An exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join the UK’s largest independently owned lubricants producer in the role of Field Based Technical Support.

 

Job Title: Field Based Technical Support

 

Location:  Midlands with the ability to travel across the UK & Ireland

 

Reports to: Sales Director

 

Working With: UK Area Sales Managers

 

 

Role Description

 

  • Field Technical Support – to support a number of own brand and Exol branded distributors.
  • Support ASM team with account staff training, account BDM training, account customer training and trade shows.
  • Working within Automotive, Commercial and Agricultural accounts and buying groups.

 

KEY SKILLS

 

  • Deliver presentations by Power Point in a clear and positive manner 
  • Hold an audience’s attention, listen, answer questions and note feedback.
  • Present on a one to one or group basis.
  • Create and change Power Point presentations (Training can be provided).
  • Generate clear and accurate weekly reports.
  • Arrange appointments, manage an on-line shared outlook calendar.
  • Planning and time management to maximize customer time and minimize travel time.
  • Knowledge of Lubricant Additive development, VM Approvals, OE blended products and Lubricants in general.  (Training can be provided). 
  • Travel all areas of the United Kingdom and Ireland.
  • Work on own initiative as well as part of a team. 
  • Book and manage accommodation requirements.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Work closely with ASM buying group managers. 
  • Liaise with relevant ASM to advise when "Technical Support” has been arranged and what type of support – Training, work out day etc.
  • Attend technical training days, technical evenings and trade shows arranged and advised by the ASM team.
  • Maintain and manage on-line shared diary
  • Support the ASM team with joint technical presentations and trade show events.
  • Contact accounts to arrange technical training for their staff and customers, working by geographical sector to optimise time and minimise travel time. 
  • Presentations will be by PDF or Power Point.

  • Sales growth on accounts after training.
  • Volume of accounts covered.
