Exol sponsors cycle team’s ride for charity
Exol Lubricants has pledged it support to the WSCC cycling team, who, after a very challenging year, has decided to take on the Sea to Sea challenge (C2C), cycling from Whitehaven to Tynemouth for three of their favourite charities on 5th and 6th August.
The enthusiastic team, which was started in lockdown and includes Exol’s export sales manager Paul Eastwood, have all been touched by various issues during the past 12 months and wanted to try and raise important funds for The Alzheimer’s Society, The Christie Cancer Charity and MIND (Manchester).
With steep road climbs up to Hartside (580m) and to Nenthead (609m) the six strong team will climb nearly 2800 metres and cycle over 140 miles in two days.
The Directors of Exol have purchased team shirts for the team to wear on the ride, showcasing the Exol logo, with Synk Creative looking after the branding.
Paul said: “We’ve already raised over £1000 thanks to the generosity of Exol’s customers, staff and suppliers and our friends and family. We’re extremely grateful to everyone who has shown support so far and cannot wait to pull on our Exol tops and take to the roads. Some of the team are more experienced than others, but we’re all determined to get through it together and raise as much as we can for these fantastic causes – if we have to push our bikes we will! Any donation, big or small would be massively appreciated.”
