Howard Lee’s Karl & Tania raise £5K for Charity
Karl and Tania from Howard Lee & Son Ltd have successfully raised £5803 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in support of their friend Martin Garde.
The pair successfully completed the Birmingham Half Marathon on Sunday 20 October 2013.
Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive and terminal disease that attacks the motor neurons or nerves in the brain and spinal cord. It can cause weakness and muscle loss throughout the body and affects people in different ways.
Their friend Martin Garde (who was the local Sandvik Engineer for many years) has sadly been diagnosed with this devastating and debilitating disease.
The Motor Neurone Disease Association is funded solely by charity work and without the kindness of individuals and companies, it would be impossible for them to provide the care and support to those unfortunateenough to be suffering with this terrible disease.
Karl Jones said: “I would like to say a massive thank you for your support, it has been truly heart warming just how willing people are prepared to aid a good cause. Let’s hope our contribution makes life a little more comfortable for those less fortunate than ourselves and aids further research into one day finding a cure.”
