Exol Lubricants invests in Rotherham blending plant makeover to enhance operations

Exol Lubricants has made a significant investment in its Rotherham blending plant as part of its ongoing commitment to operational excellence, brand enhancement and dedication to continually improving its facilities to meet the evolving demands of the industry.

The five-week project included a comprehensive refurbishment of the plant’s infrastructure, aimed at boosting efficiency and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

The scope of the work included the installation of scaffolding, which took two weeks to erect, and a series of critical maintenance and aesthetic updates.

The makeover involved a high-pressure jet wash of the tanks, followed by the application of a primer, undercoat, and a gloss topcoat to ensure durability and a premium finish.

The tank bases and tops were coated in black, with the tops treated with anti-slip paint for added safety. Additionally, the tanks received vinyl logos and identification stencils, further reinforcing Exol’s brand identity.

Plus, the stairwells within the plant were painted in grey, while the tanks were finished in Exol’s signature blue, creating a cohesive and professional appearance that reflects the company’s brand values.

These updates not only enhance the visual appeal of the facility but also contribute to the efficiency and safety of daily operations.

Simon Matthews, Product Development Manager at Exol Lubricants, comments: “By investing in our facilities, such as the Rotherham blending plant makeover, we are not only enhancing our operational capabilities but also reinforcing our brand’s commitment to quality, safety and continued improvements.”

This investment is the latest in a series of strategic initiatives by Exol Lubricants to better its facilities, products, and services.

Over the years Exol’s investment projects has seen solar panels being installed at its head office in Wednesbury to cut carbon emissions and save energy costs, refreshed fleets to ensure optimised service levels to meet demand, this includes the usage of the waterways to transport product as eco-friendly as possible on the Exol barge – and the most recent investment involved a new automated liquid transfer system, called a pigging line, to reduce waste product lost during the blending process.

By continually upgrading its infrastructure, offices and fleet, Exol ensures that it remains at the forefront of the lubricants industry, providing its customers with reliable, high-performance products that meet the highest standards.

Exol Lubricants continues to lead the market with its comprehensive range of lubricants, backed by state-of-the-art production facilities and a commitment to customer satisfaction, all to maintain its position as a trusted leader in the industry – a position they have held for 40 years.
