Exol reveals Taurus SHPD E9 product name changes
Exol Lubricants has changed the name of its Taurus SHPD E9 10W-30 and Taurus SHPD E9 15W-40 engine oils, which will now be known as Taurus SHPD Plus 10W-30 and Taurus SHPD Plus 15W-40, respectively.
The previous ‘E9’ part of the product name referenced the ACEA E9 specification, but with the introduction of the ACEA E11 standard, Exol has taken the decision to update the product names to meet these changes.
Paul Timmis, Group Technical Director at Exol Lubricants, explains: “The ACEA E9 specification has now been superseded by ACEA E11, and while our products already exceed the latest requirements, we wanted to avoid tying them to a specific specification that may change again in the future.
“By introducing the ‘Plus’ we provide customers with confidence that our Taurus SHPD range continues to meet and exceed the most up-to-date ACEA oil sequences without being restricted to a single specification.”
Both Taurus SHPD Plus 10W-30 and Taurus SHPD Plus 15W-40 are designed for use in heavy-duty diesel engines, offering exceptional protection, enhanced durability, and improved performance in demanding operating conditions.
The formulations continue to deliver the high standards of wear protection, deposit control, and fuel efficiency that customers expect from Exol.
Steve Dunn, Sales & Marketing Director at Exol Lubricants, added: “The updated product names will be reflected across all packaging and marketing materials, ensuring a smooth transition for distributors and customers.”
