Exol sponsors Droitwich’s junior golf team
Exol is supporting the UK’s next generation of golfing talent by sponsoring Droitwich Golf Club’s junior team.
The team has 43 junior members, ages 8 -18, with 23 owning club handicaps between 5 and 54, many receiving coaching on a regular basis by club coach Phil Cundy.
The team plays in the West Midlands Junior Golf League (WMJGL) and remains unbeaten this season. They have qualified for the league final in September, having already won Zone D (consisting of Cleobury Mortimer, Fulford Heath & Redditch).
Exol’s branding will appear on the team’s shirts and jackets during league and other club matches, enabling them and to represent Droitwich Golf Club with considerable smartness and maturity.
Some of the players have fared extraordinarily well so far this season, representing Worcestershire and finishing highly placed in a number of tournaments at local, county and national levels, including the WMJGL Osborn Trophy at Hagley and the Shirley Jones Cup. Lili Rose Hunt, aged just 13, recently became County Junior Girls Champion and 15-year-old Junior Captain Lauren Sharp (aged 15) won the European Junior Open Regional Qualifier at Drayton Park, Staffordshire, where she will next play in the final at Alcadeisa Golf Club, Cadiz, Spain in November.
Two other players will play in the English Girls U16 Championship at Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire in early August.
Exol is proud to sponsor this pool of young golfing talent and wishes them all the best for the rest of the season and beyond.
